Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure your file is exported as either a .dxf or Adobe Illustrator file. If you do not have Adobe Illustrator, you can request the “Adobe Creative Cloud” software for free using your Penn State account credentials.
  • Please review the list of acceptable materials before bringing a part to be laser engraved.
  • If you are cutting or engraving multiple graphics and using the same material, combine the graphics into one file to save on time and materials!
  • If you are unsure what power and speed to set the cutters, ask one of the Learning Factory TAs.
