About
The vertical band saw can cut at pieces with ease. It can also cut pieces that require curves as well as straight cuts.
Training Required
Location
- This machine is located in the Metal Shop in the basement of the Engineering Design and Innovation Building (EDIB).
Safety Info
- Keep hands as far from the blade of the band saw as possible while keeping a good grip on your piece. This will reduce injury and accidents.
- Use guides when possible to safely cut straight through your piece.
- When possible have two people operating the band saw, one cutting and one near the emergency stop button.
Tips and Tricks
- Keep the speed of the blade at the recommended speed on the machine.
